fake film festival: entries open!

ECOtvc CompetitionReturning to the Adelaide Film Festival in 2007 is the incredibly popular Fake Film Festival, and celebrates everything FAKE! Unlike a traditional short film festival, FAKE taps into the modern filmmaker's repertoire by asking aspiring and established directors, editors, animators and digital media practitioners to put together films in three categories.

FAKE Features: Big ideas, but no budget for your masterpiece? The grandest epics and the most woeful concepts will be squeezed into a maximum of three minutes - trailer style - Keep audiences wondering about what will be or could have been.

FAKE Ads: Sell us a fake product and play with the formulas. Enlighten us to the necessity of Rocket Pants or the Cheese-o-matic 2000.

FAKE Docos: Give us an insight into the harsh realities of life as a fictitious person. Go behind the scenes where there are no scenes.

ECOtvc : create your own commercial

ECOtvc CompetitionECOtvc is a competition to create a 30-second commercial to raise awareness about sustainability – and inspire people to make changes that will help create a better future for our planet. We want to develop and promote South Australia as a leader in sustainable practices and empower our young people and the broader community to deliver the message.

This year’s competition has a special theme: Zero Waste. With an initial deadline of 5 pm Friday 1 September, now is the time to start thinking – how can your 30-second commercial help us shift toward that goal? Research suggests that young people attach less importance to this issue than older members of the community, so we especially want to reach/inspire/motivate that group. But anyone with a good idea is welcome to enter the competition!

If your entry is among the finalists, you will receive assistance to produce your commercial – and be in the running for cash prizes and the chance to have your creation shown at the 2007 Adelaide Film Festival and on television.
