JOIN THE AUSTRALIAN DELEGATION AT THE
2009 SICHUAN TV FESTIVAL
SCREEN AUSTRALIA TRAVEL GRANTS AVAILABLE

The 2009 Sichuan TV Festival, China, will host an official Australian delegation in their upcoming festival, 6 - 8 November 2009.
The Australian delegation will offer invaluable opportunities for documentary and other filmakers to network and do business with industry leaders from China and around the world.
The 2009 Sichuan TV Festival will host Australia Day – this will provide a special focus on Australia to promote business, communication and cooperation in the film and TV industry between China and Australia.
OPPORTUNITIES
The International TV Program Market is one of the biggest in China for TV, film, entertainment, documentary and information programs, and the main channel for the export and import of TV and film programs in Asia. Held every two years, in 2007 it attracted 1,222 Chinese delegates and a total of 2,750 participants from around the world, plus TV networks and broadcasters from 19 countries and regions.
SUPPORT
The official delegation from Australia is being arranged jointly with theAustralian International Documentary Conference (AIDC), Screen Australia and the Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA).
AIDC and SPAA representatives will be present at the Festival to assist and support the delegation and to help organise meetings and facilitate introductions.
The aim is to establish an advanced platform for co-productions, program
marketing and project investment and will be achieved by project presentations,
one-on-one meetings and specially prepared panel presentations.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Any interested Australian film industry representative is eligible to join the delegation.
COST
Registration is free for Australian delegation members.
Individual delegates are responsible for meeting all travel and accommodation expenses; however Screen Australia is offering a limited number of travel grants.
SCREEN AUSTRALIA TRAVEL ASSISTANCE
Screen Australia is offering travel grants for producers to attend the
International TV Program Market at the Sichuan TV Festival, 6–8 November
2009.
The deadline for applications is Friday 28 August 2009.
Television, documentary or animation producers and digital and mobile content creators are encouraged to apply. This is an opportunity to build upon existing relationships in China, seek co-production, investment and sales opportunities and learn more about the Chinese market.
Applicants will need to provide a strong market strategy outlining their argument for attendance, desired outcomes and a demonstrated understanding of the market. Preference will be given to applicants who have at least one project in development suitable for the Chinese market.
Applicants can apply for up to $2,000 towards the cost of their travel, with Australian delegates receiving complimentary registration and discounted accommodation.
